Summary: ThinkRich Naija includes both a paid app quiz experience and a free physical quiz show. This policy explains how we handle refunds for app quiz fees, wallet deposits, prize withdrawals, and exceptional technical issues.

Overview
Section 01

This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") applies to all transactions, wallet activity, and prize disbursements on the ThinkRich Naija platform, including the website, the ThinkRich Naija mobile application ("App") available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and any associated services.

We are committed to fair and transparent treatment of all users. Because our app quiz requires an entry fee while our physical quiz show does not, the scenarios in which a refund arises are limited. This Policy outlines each situation clearly so you know exactly what to expect.

Entry Fee Model
Section 02

ThinkRich Naija offers both free and fee-based participation depending on the format. App quiz sessions may require an entry fee, while physical quiz show participation is free. Leaderboard participation and account creation are free of charge.

  • App quiz sessions may require a fee to enter.
  • Physical TV and street quiz show participation is free.
  • Leaderboard participation is free.
  • Creating and maintaining an account is free.
  • The App is free to download on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Because the physical quiz show is free and app quiz entry fees are charged only in specific paid sessions, this Policy is focused on the limited refund situations that arise from fees, wallet deposits, prize withdrawals, and technical issues.

Wallet Deposits
Section 03

ThinkRich Naija may offer an in-app wallet that allows users to fund their account balance for future features, boosts, or optional premium content. All wallet deposits are made voluntarily through our integrated payment processors (Paystack and/or Flutterwave).

Please note: Once a wallet deposit has been used — either consumed by a feature, applied to a quiz entry, or converted to a quiz benefit — that amount is not eligible for a cash refund.

Unused wallet balances may be eligible for refund under the following conditions:

  • The deposit was made in error (e.g., duplicate transaction, wrong amount).
  • A technical error on our platform caused the deposit to fail to credit correctly.
  • You are closing your account and have an unused balance (see Section 10).

Refund requests for wallet deposits must be submitted within 14 days of the original transaction date. Requests made outside this window will not be processed except in cases of proven technical fault on our part.

Prize Winnings & Withdrawals
Section 04

Prizes won through the ThinkRich Naija quiz or monthly leaderboard competition are credited to your in-app wallet. These are not purchases — they are awards granted by ThinkRich Naija — and are therefore not subject to this refund policy.

To withdraw your prize balance to a Nigerian bank account:

  • A verified bank account must be linked to your profile.
  • Identity verification (BVN or equivalent) must be completed.
  • Withdrawals are processed within 10 business days of a valid request.
  • A minimum withdrawal threshold applies (displayed in the App at time of request).

If a withdrawal is delayed beyond the stated processing time due to reasons within our control, you may contact us for an update. Delays caused by banking intermediaries, public holidays, or verification holds are outside our direct control but we will always assist in resolving them.

Withdrawal errors: If funds are sent to an incorrect bank account due to an error you made when entering account details, ThinkRich Naija is not liable for recovery of those funds. Always double-check your bank details before submitting a withdrawal request.

When Refunds Apply
Section 05

The following table summarises the scenarios in which a refund or adjustment may be granted:

  • Duplicate wallet deposit (charged twice for same transaction): Refund Eligibility: Eligible; Notes: Submit within 14 days with transaction reference. Duplicate amount refunded to original payment method.
  • Deposit successful but balance not credited due to our technical error: Refund Eligibility: Eligible; Notes: Provide payment confirmation. We will credit balance or refund within 5 business days of verification.
  • Unused wallet balance on account closure: Refund Eligibility: Eligible; Notes: Request withdrawal before deleting account. Balances not withdrawn within 30 days of deletion request are forfeited.
  • App quiz entry fee: Refund Eligibility: Case by Case; Notes: Refunds are available only for duplicate charges, technical failures, or sessions not delivered. Incorrect answers are not refundable.
  • Quiz result dissatisfaction (lost a quiz): Refund Eligibility: Not Eligible; Notes: Quiz outcomes are final. Losses are not refundable.
  • Wallet deposit already used on a feature or quiz: Refund Eligibility: Not Eligible; Notes: Once consumed, wallet funds cannot be reversed.
  • App Store / Google Play in-app purchase: Refund Eligibility: Via Store; Notes: Governed by Apple / Google refund policies. See Section 9.
  • Service outage causing missed quiz opportunity: Refund Eligibility: Case by Case; Notes: We assess each reported outage. Compensation (if any) is at our discretion and typically takes the form of account credits rather than cash refunds.
Non-Refundable Items
Section 06

The following are expressly non-refundable under this Policy:

  • Consumed wallet funds — any deposit that has been spent, applied, or converted within the platform.
  • Lost quiz entries — elimination from a quiz round does not entitle you to any refund or compensation. Entry fees are refundable only under the limited conditions described in this policy.
  • Points and leaderboard position — accumulated points, streak bonuses, and leaderboard ranks have no monetary value and cannot be converted to cash or refunded.
  • Referral rewards already disbursed — once referral bonuses have been credited to your wallet, they are treated as prize funds and are subject to withdrawal rules, not refund rules.
  • Withheld winnings due to fraud or rule violations — if prize payments are withheld because of a breach of our Terms of Use, those amounts are not refundable.
  • Expired promotional credits — any credits or bonuses issued with an expiry date that have lapsed.
How to Request a Refund
Section 07

To submit a refund request, use one of the following methods:

Email: Send your request to info@thinkrichnaija.com with the subject line "Refund Request".

In-App Support: Open the ThinkRich Naija app, go to Menu → Help & Support → Contact Us and submit a refund request directly.

When submitting your request, please include:

  1. Your registered email address or phone number.
  2. Date and amount of the transaction in question.
  3. Payment method used (Paystack, Flutterwave, bank transfer).
  4. Transaction reference or receipt number (if available).
  5. A brief description of why you are requesting the refund.

Requests that do not include sufficient information to identify the transaction may be delayed. We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 2 business days.

Processing & Timelines
Section 08

Once a refund request is approved:

  • Card payments (Paystack / Flutterwave): Refunded to the original card within 5–10 business days. The exact timing depends on your bank's processing speed.
  • Bank transfers: Refunded to your registered Nigerian bank account within 5–7 business days of approval.
  • Wallet credit corrections: Applied to your in-app wallet within 1–2 business days.

We do not charge any processing fee for approved refunds. The full approved amount will be returned to you.

If you have not received your refund within the stated timeframe, please contact us and provide your original request reference number so we can investigate.

Currency: All refunds are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN). ThinkRich Naija does not accept or process payments in foreign currencies and is not responsible for any foreign exchange differences applied by your bank.

App Store Purchases
Section 09

If you make a purchase directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (for example, an in-app purchase processed by Apple or Google), that transaction is governed by the respective platform's refund policy — not this Policy.

  • Apple App Store: Refund requests must be submitted through Apple's Report a Problem tool at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles these refunds directly and ThinkRich Naija does not control the outcome.
  • Google Play Store: Refund requests for recent purchases can be made through the Google Play Help Centre. Google's standard window is 48 hours from purchase for self-service refunds; after that, requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If your App Store refund request is approved by Apple or Google, any associated wallet credits or benefits that were granted as a result of that purchase will be reversed from your account.

If you believe an App Store purchase was made fraudulently or without your authorisation, contact Apple or Google support immediately, and also notify us at info@thinkrichnaija.com so we can flag the account for review.

Account Closure & Cancellation
Section 10

You may delete your ThinkRich Naija account at any time. Before doing so, we strongly recommend withdrawing any outstanding wallet balance to your linked bank account.

Important: Wallet balances that are not withdrawn within 30 days of your account deletion request will be permanently forfeited. Account deletion cannot be undone after the 14-day cancellation window.

Cancellation window: After submitting a deletion request, your account is suspended for 14 days before permanent deletion. During this window, you may cancel the deletion by logging back in. This gives you time to withdraw your balance.

To delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App, or visit our dedicated Account Deletion page for full instructions and an email alternative.

Cancelling your account does not entitle you to a refund of any expired promotional credits or previously consumed wallet funds.

This Policy is governed by Nigerian law. Any disputes arising from a refund decision that cannot be resolved directly with our support team may be referred to the relevant consumer protection body in Nigeria.
